Instruments for a household that cannot see its own grid
Sama starts from a legibility problem: a rooftop owner in an Indian city exports electricity and is told neither where it went nor what it was worth. These are the working instruments behind that argument. Each one is labelled for what it is, and none is evidence of a pilot.
instrument 01 · synthetic modelOne feeder, two regimes
An agent-based model of rooftop solar prosumers on one distribution feeder. It asks what changes in who absorbs the surplus, and who captures the value, when a household can see the feeder and sell to a neighbour instead of the DISCOM.
Where the grid cannot see
Where India's distribution network is least observable, set against where rooftop solar is being connected. The first step is a survey of what data exists, and at what resolution. Nothing is mapped until that is settled.
